Common Garage Door Clicker Problems

Garage door clickers are handy and abundant. They are the “key” that many of us use to go in and out of our houses. They cause few troubles, are easy to fix when they do, and can be replaced at little expense. Not only do today’s garage door  clickers free drivers from dealing with heavy and awkward garage doors, they also specifically tuned to your house, so no one else can accidentally or intentionally enter without your permission. The unit is small and includes safety features to prevent harming children caught under the door.

Most basic garage door clicker requires just a few simple steps to program. Typically, you hold down the open button on the remote while pressing and releasing the programming button, then release the open button when the garage door clicker light comes on. There are some problems with garage door clickers that seem to defy solutions. Sometimes people discover that their garage door will open on its own. You might be sitting in the living room, or away at work, and the door suddenly opens. The reason for some of these strange occurrences is that same radio frequencies can be used by the government for emergency purposes. In the process of using that frequency in an area, garage door openers nearby can be inadvertently opened at will.

If the garage door hits the floor and reverses to open again, check the close limit switch and adjust accordingly when it reverses before even hitting the floor, a possible cause is another adjustment feature on the garage door clicker. If your garage door motor fails to stop running, it is probably comes as no surprise. If the door opens or closes but the motor continues to run, the limit switch is probably to blame. Adjust the switch, either on the rear of the opener unit or on the track, also, confirm buttons on your garage door clicker to make sure sticky buttons are fixed immediately.

Convenience is nice, but sometimes it can backfire. As it turns out, burglars happen to like entering houses through the garage because it is often much more convenient especially when the car is unlocked, the thief could just use your garage door clicker to get into the place. Practicing safety tips will keep you out of trouble.
