Haircuts and Style Tips: Don’t Settle for Anything Less

Before going to the hair salon, every person has an expectation. For instance, they expect to leave the hair salon, with a hair style that makes them look prettier or more handsome. But in many cases, people leave with failed expectations. The hair stylists gave them a hair style they didn’t like, but had no choice but to live with it. This isn’t something you’d like to happen to you, which is why you shouldn’t settle for anything less when it comes to haircuts and style.

Although the hair stylist will have a big part of your haircuts and style, you still have a part in preventing your hair from being butchered. This is what most people don’t know about, so they fail to prepare before visiting the hair salon. Here are the tips to follow:

·         Know the Stylist- Do you want to make sure that the hair stylist will understand what hair style you really want? Do your homework and ask around. Not all hair stylists are easy to communicate with. Now if you see someone sporting a hair style you like, ask who their stylist is. This is your best shot at getting the hair style you really want.

·         Focus on Reality- Sure, those haircuts and style magazine photos provide you several selections on hair styles. But what you must keep in mind is that all these are styled to perfection. And if you’re a very busy person, you won’t have enough time to style your hair for hours every day. Hence, pick the hair style that is comfortable and convenient for you on a daily basis.

·         Don’t Obsess- Chatty stylists are common, but what chatty clients aren't. It’s okay to talk to your stylist while he is working on your hair, however, avoid micromanaging his or her every move. This is why you’d want to get a hair stylist who understands your need right off the bat, so when you sit on that chair, you can just relax.

·         Explain What You Mean by “Inch”- Don’t just tell the hair stylist to chop off 1 or 3 inches. Rather, show him or her what you mean. This will avoid any misunderstanding.

·         If You Don’t Like It, Say it- This is pretty much self-explanatory. But after expressing your disappointment, try to find a resolution—whether it’s adjusting the hair cut, getting a free service or not paying for the haircut.

Your preparation and knowing what haircuts and style you want is important in getting your hair style right. Do your homework and you won’t be settling for anything less.
