Declutter Your Home with Home Storage Solutions

Seeing clutter in your home can really affect your mood. Why? Because seeing things all over the place affects the peace and tranquility in a home. Clutter is an eyesore and the more you don’t do anything about it, the worse it will get.

It’s common knowledge that buying a home storage box to stuff your things in is helpful. But what’s the use of stacking all these boxes if you don’t know how to organize them too? The boxes will just be another clutter to deal with.

So, the best way to declutter your home is to know which kind of things you need to clean and fix first. Get your storage boxes ready and heed these easy home storage solutions.

·         Trash. Clean all the trash and throw them away now. If there are items you can recycle, keep them. If you want to re-purpose them, make sure you do it the right way. Otherwise, you’re just inviting trash in again.

·         Broken Items. Broken items that you don’t have any use for should go in the trash. If you’ve been keeping them with hopes of repairing them, then do it already. Broken items lying around unused just add to the clutter.

·         Items Not Used in A Year. You like to keep things with sentimental value, but these things just add to the clutter if you haven’t noticed. If you’re not using them or don’t have any use for them, segregate and keep the ones you really can’t live with. Get rid of the other things. If the item is still in good condition, you can donate or sell.

·         Clothes. Your closet is a mess because you keep adding new clothes, but not letting go of old ones. A rule of thumb is to get rid of clothing you haven’t used in a year. Again, sell or donate them, whatever you see fit.

·         Items You Need But Can Be Stored Elsewhere. Often, these are furniture and other possessions that just take up space in your home but you can’t really get rid of. Some examples are a motorcycle, an RV, a boat or old furniture. In this case, you’ll need to find a self-storage unit to store them.

These home storage solutions should keep you from adding clutter to your home. However, clutter can sometimes be unavoidable. What you can do is declutter every month to avoid build-up.

Further, always have the appropriate home storage boxes for the things you like to keep. Make sure the boxes are organized and well-positioned in any room. Boxes lying around don’t help make your home neat and clean.
