Is Your Tampa Beauty Salon Breaking the Salon Etiquette Code?

Before you ask, “is there really a salon etiquette code?” Formally, there isn’t. It varies from one salon to another. However, what we’re talking about here is the general Tampa beauty salon etiquette code that every stylist should follow. If you see that they break any of these, consider it a red flag.

·         The stylist should not be late. It is very rude for a stylist to make the client wait. The other way around is more forgivable. If you are made to wait, the stylist should give a discount for your trouble. If he or she doesn’t’, don’t go back to that Tampa beauty salon.
·         The stylist should be courteous and patient. You are the client. Whatever you want is what will happen. The stylist can make suggestions and recommendations, but your decision will be final. A stylist who is not patient enough to ask you what you want is a big no-no.
·         The stylist should be honest with the cost of services. Stylists will always try to sell their services to you. You go to the Tampa beauty salon to get a haircut and they will tell you that it will be better if you get a deep conditioning hair treatment or a hair color done. There are clients who agree to the service without knowing the additional expense and they just get shocked when it's billing time.
·         The stylist should be professional at all times. A Tampa beauty salon stylist who talks on the cellphone while working or gossiping with other stylists on the work floor is so unprofessional. They should be focused on what they are doing. Also, they should always talk to you with a professional tone. You are their client, not a friend.
·         The stylist should not be mad if you don’t give a tip. Do keep in mind that as a client, you have the right to give or not to give a tip to your stylist. It is not mandatory, but a preference. A tip is a sign of satisfaction. Hence, the stylist should earn it. If you are not satisfied, feel free to not give a tip. And if you hear the stylist complain about it, don’t ever go back. That is just plain unprofessional too.

Remember, you are a paying client. You are paying for the high quality service. Every stylist should treat you like the king and queen when you’re in the beauty salon.
