Going to Trial for Speeding Tickets (The Real Deal)

People who are given speeding tickets can take it two ways. One is to just accept the ill fate of getting one, or second, you fight that ticket especially if you know you’re innocent. Many drivers will take the first route, just because it’s less of a hassle. However, if you are smart, you will exercise your right and fight the ticket you don’t deserve to have.

Taking the second route isn’t easy and it won’t be cheap too. In order to fight traffic tickets, you will need to hire a traffic attorney to help you. And of course, these attorneys ask for a fee. Before you think twice about not putting your money on a traffic lawyer, you should know what your payment will get you.

On top of the list is that you will not have to deal with fighting the speeding tickets anymore, your attorney will handle everything. Everything refers to correspondence, negotiations and going to court. Fighting is a ticket is not that easy. If you don’t know how to try a case, you won’t know what the cop or the prosecuting attorney will have on you. Thus, hiring a traffic attorney will help you prepare for everything.

Next, a traffic attorney will know who to talk to, what to say and what to do. This is his line of work and he, more or less, knows who the judges are in the city you are being tried. The fact is, your attorney can either talk to the cop that gave you the ticket or the prosecuting attorney and if you don’t fight the ticket properly, it will end in trial and no one really wants to go that way, not even your own lawyer.

Given that he knows most of the cops, lawyers and judges in town, it will be easier to try the speeding tickets because he will know how to negotiate for the lowest deal possible for you. There’s no magic here. The lawyer simply knows what to say and how to deal with the matter at hand. While it isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be off the hook, getting a plea bargain should still make things easier. Nonetheless, if your traffic attorney doesn’t like the counter-offer, he can always choose to go to trial instead.

Last, traffic lawyers know the real truth why cops give speeding tickets. They often give it to motorcycles and sports cars where speed is very obvious. And usually, they give it to the rich guys too.

So if you’re given a traffic ticket that you believe you don’t really deserve, take the odds of fighting it. Why? Because there is a chance that you might be talking to a good cop or get a write-down if you’re apologetic and nice. Also, there’s a chance that the judge might cut you some slack if you deserve it.
