Which Tobacco Grinder is for You?

You love tobacco and you can’t wait to get your hand on a tobacco grinder for own grinding pleasure. So, you head to a smoke shop and figured that you can just buy a cheap grinder so you can use one immediately. But once you’re there, you are faced with different tobacco grinders and you have absolutely no idea which one to buy.

Although buying the most expensive tobacco grinders isn’t really a requirement, there are ups and downs for each one. For the most part, choosing one will boil down to what will suit your grinding needs.

Here are the different kinds of tobacco grinders you can buy in a smoke shop:

1.       Electric

Electric grinders are great for household use, that is, if you are looking to grind coffee, herbs, spices and others. It is heavy-duty and the price is heavy on the wallet too. The great thing about this grinder is that it offers you variety. You’re not only stuck with grinding marijuana or tobacco. You can practically grind whatever you want. Needless to say, you can do bulk grinding too.

2.       Aluminum

Next to the electric tobacco grinders, you can pick aluminium grinders instead. One of the differences is that aluminum grinders are manual. But when it comes to grinding herbs, spices, marijuana and tobacco, both grinders serve the same purpose.

However, there is also one other reason why people go for aluminum grinders. That’s because these grinders can collect pollen. It has a kief collector located in the bottom chambers which collects the pollens from the herbs and spices. If you need those pollens, this is the grinder you should buy.

3.       Acrylic

Acrylic is probably the most affordable tobacco grinder you can get your hands on. It’s not only available in a smoke shop; even gas stations sell this hardware.

One of the reasons why it is cheap is because it is just made of hard plastic. And while it can grind tobacco, marijuana, herbs and spices, acrylic grinders can only handle small amounts. Also, do not expect it to be as durable as the electric or aluminum grinder.

4.       Wood

Last but not least is the wooden grinder. Wooden grinders are great to show off because they are always designed to perfection. In appearance, they are very cool to look at, which is great if you are hosting parties and such. However, since the grinders are made of wood and it’s just hand-made, it is not as durable too.

Now that you know the differences, go back to the smoke shop and decide what kind of tobacco grinder you need. Just another tip though, always consider how frequent you will be using the grinder and what you’ll be using it for.
