BOXING AND MEN’S HEALTH

Boxing is a good way to lose weight and be physically active. It can be done without the pricy gym equipment. You may want to hire a professional trainer or subscribe to online men’s health portals and guides. Boxing does many wonders for men’s health. Aside from helping you shred weight in a more enjoyable way, boxing also promotes good blood circulation. Boxing activates the muscle functions through the agility exercises. Strength and power can also be honed through boxing.

All of the benefits that boxing can provide to men’s health are achievable without being too harsh to your body. Basic boxing exercises may only need a jump rope, a timer, boxing/weighted gloves, light set of weights, and ample space for push ups and crunches. If you already completed these basic requirements, you may now try these simple exercises. These exercises can be finished in 15 minutes, or depending on your time commitment, you can do this for as long as 45 minutes. It is important to be mindful of your intervals. Intervals for these boxing exercises may be varied from 30-60 seconds. For men’s health, these boxing exercises build strength and speed.

1. Using your weighted gloves, shadowbox starting with six controlled punches to a imaginary body and another six to a phantom head. Do this shadowboxing again every 30 seconds. You have to extend your arms out, pull them back to guard your face, and do this routine again. You can also imagine that you are avoiding counterpunches to add agility training.

2. Cardio is an important exercise in boxing. With your feet together, start jumping with your rope for 30 seconds. Be sure to maintain a tight distance to the ground. When doing jump rope exercise, you have to push yourself to your limits—until dire exhaustion or puking.

3. Push-ups and crunches are good for maintaining good physique in men’s health. You just have to be mindful of your form ensuring that you are doing the right exercises and you are utilizing the right body parts.

Repeating these exercises for a couple of times will serve you good and will boost your health and stamina. The key to perfect men’s health is determination and willingness to push through with these exercises. You just have to be determined and boxing exercises will do the rest.

BOXING: BENEFICIAL FOR WOMEN’S HEALTH

Boxing for women’s health is really taking off. We're picking up our gloves and to get fighting fit, but that's not to say some of us aren't intimidated by the idea of boxing. The idea of bulky arms, monster muscles and nose bleeds is wrong. Boxing is more than that, and here are the reasons why.

Increase in endorphins.
The best way to forget a long, hard, frustrating day is to punch it out! It is but normal not to feel like going when you are tired but when you will find out that every after class, you will feel completely alive. Despite being sore and sweaty, the atmosphere at the boxing gym is always electric and the preparations for the various fight nights would make you want to get involved.

Maximum fitness.
Sadly, exercise, for women’s health effectively takes more than just jumping on a treadmill and hoping for the best. If you want to get the most out of your body then you need to work it the right way through a variety of different forms of exercise and keeping your heart rate at the right level. Boxing as a form of anaerobic exercise uses up oxygen fast. This means lactic acid is produced and your body will not be able to sustain its energy levels for long. This type of exercise increases your endurance, muscle mass, metabolism and your ability to withstand fatigue.

Enhances hand-eye coordination.
Boxing can help hone hand-eye coordination. When you’re tasked with punching a speed bag or you’re paired up to spar with a partner, you must be able to see the target, react to the target, and hit the target, all while the target is moving and changing position. It’s tough, but with practice, your hand-eye coordination improves substantially. This is best for women’s health as it produces faster reflexes and reaction times.

Pre-Workout and Post-Workout Nutrition

Engaging in physical activities like power workouts, boxing and kickboxing trainings burn unnecessary fats in the body apart from strengthening its cardiovascular and muscular components. But for you to be able to perform well in such fitness activities, you have to fuel up. And what better way to do that than to eat, right?

Eating Before Your Power Workout

Carbohydrates are your body's preferred fuel source. You need to fuel your body so it can train at its best. We are not saying though that you should load yourself with plates of mashed potatoes and food rich in carbs prior to your fitness classes. The rule is: do not eat more carbs than you need. You want every gram of carbohydrates you consume to be used as an immediate fuel source, not be stored as fat.

During Your Power Workout

Make sure you hydrate yourself in between fitness activities, especially if you are engaged in boxing and kickboxing since they make you sweat a lot. Proper hydration is necessary to keep your pace while working out. Just make sure you don’t drink above the appropriate level so as not to bloat yourself. Water is more recommended over power drinks or sports drinks. Some sports drinks load your body with unnecessary sugar content that can ruin your diet.

Eating After Your Power Workout

Your body’s fuel level after an intense workout will certainly be low.  You may have even tapped into reserves to complete your workout. The body's first priority is correcting blood sugar balance and replenishing glycogen. The best way to keep up with the changes your body undergoes after working out is by eating protein-rich foods. But do not underestimate what fast-acting carbohydrates can do. Also called simple carbohydrates, they are easy to digest and can supply you with a lot of energy in the soonest time possible. Examples of fast-acting carbs include fruits, potatoes, pasta, white rice, cereals, and even smoothies! They certainly make a fun way of cooling off after in intense power workout at your fitness club.

Boxing: The Family Sport

The misconception that people have against boxing is that it is an intense contact sport. This scares family members in getting into boxing as a family activity. The truth is that boxing is one of the safest sports for all ages with the right equipment and training. Here are some reasons as to why boxing is good for all the members of your family.

·       Cardiovascular fitness. Interval training is the first few steps made before the actual fight. Boxers usually have a three-minute round with one-minute recoveries; the start to stop form of exercise or warm up is made to keep your body running and increases blood flow that is best in developing cardiovascular fitness. Family fitness starts by reducing cardiovascular diseases, which is the number one pathologic killer in this generation.

·       Reduces stress. Stressors are all over the place. Young or old, people encounter stress in every move they take. Best way to release anger and anxiety is by having a productive outlet. More often than not, families fight due to simple problems or by simply having a bad day. Intense exercises like boxing promote the release of feel-good hormones - “endorphins” - that leave you feeling happy and relieved.

·      Increases bone density. Bone mass density usually deteriorates after your 30s; when left unhealthy, activities will be a burden. Weight-bearing exercises are not recommended because of the risks of osteoporosis, which is associated with bones that fracture easily. Boxing on the other hand do not require any weight lifting and loads all of the major bones that prevent bone loss.

·        Weight management. You know that the family fitness you are in is effective when your family stays active, motivated, and has a controlled weight. A person who enjoys a 30-minute boxing session on a punching bag burns approximately 175 calories, which is the same as running more than 3 laps. Combined with a calorie controlled diet, boxing training can help you maintain you target weight.

So what are you waiting for? Get ready with that family fitness belt and ensure the involvement of your family members to establish rapport with the help of boxing.

Boxing as an Exercise for Weight Loss

 index

The holiday season is characterized by parties and dinners. And what comes next after all this fun? You guess it right --- WEIGHT GAIN. So before those body fats get warm and cozy inside of you, make sure you stay physically active this season. One of the physical activities that you may want to try is boxing.

Boxing is the hottest workout in fitness clubs today. Both men and women engage in this fun workout routine. If you are having second thoughts as to whether you should try it or not, here are some facts that will help you (hopefully) towards the affirmative direction.

1. Boxing will help you lose weight.

One of the most important reasons on why you should start boxing as an exercise is because it delivers major weight loss results. Boxing for only one hour per day can result in a calorie burn of nearly 600 calories. Boxing professionals recommend staying on a healthy diet to achieve optimum weight loss results.

2. Boxing improves your cardiovascular system.

Aside from weight loss, another reason on why you should start try boxing as an exercise is because of its wonderful effects on your cardiovascular system. Your cardiovascular system is composed of your heart, as well as the arteries and veins that deliver blood to and from the heart. Having a weak cardiovascular system can lead to shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue, heart attacks, and death. Research shows that the best way to strengthen a person’s cardiovascular system is by participating in activities that “stress” the heart --- in a good way. These include activities like walking, swimming, biking, and of course, boxing.

3. Boxing increases muscle tone.

Weight loss is not effective if it leads to sagging skin. Thanks to boxing, you can lose weight while increasing muscle size and tone. Boxing is an effective way to tone the whole body --- arms, chest, legs, and core as well. Increasing muscle tone not only makes you look lean and feel stronger, it also helps increase your agility. Boxing is a great workout especially if you don't have a lot of time, because you can strengthen your entire body with only one type of exercise.

4. Boxing improves your mood.

Boxing as a form of exercise helps release endorphins into your bloodstream. Endorphins are hormones which work to improve your mood. Feeling depressed or slightly down? Enroll in a boxing class and box those sad feelings and stress away.

So what are you waiting for? Make the most out of your free time this holiday season by enrolling in a boxing class. Enjoy weight loss while having fun!
