Basically, you are requesting the court to allow
you to drive while your case is pending under limited circumstances. In
general, the officer is required by law to immediately forward a copy of the
completed notice of suspension or revocation form and any driver license taken
into possession, with a sworn report to the DUI. The DUI ticket automatically
conducts an administrative review that includes an examination of the officer's
report, the suspension or revocation order, and any test results. If the
suspension or revocation is upheld during the administrative review, you may request
a hearing for a driver’s license reinstatement.

It can affect you daily or not at all. For example,
a resident who has their license suspended and can use public transportation
instead has less to worry about than someone who commutes to work or travels
regularly.
What are the hearing procedures?
In order to obtain a formal driver’s license
reinstatement hearing, you must make a written request to the state. About 14
days after you make your request, the state will mail you a hearing notice,
advising you of the time and date of your hearing.
