STRATEGIES IN PACKING FOR STORING AND MOVING

Storage units are used to store things that are aimed to be moved. Storage services provides storage units that are secured, safe from natural hazards, and are big enough for specific purposes—like furniture, appliances, etc. Before you stack your boxes in storage units, you must pack your things efficiently. Here are some tips to ensure that you packed your things right and ready for storage in storage services.  By doing the proper and strategic way of packing, storing and moving will also be much easier.

1.  Use valuable spaces. Cabinets, drawers, and inside spaces of larger appliances may provide extra space for you. This would save you from buying extra boxes. You may store here solid items that would not stain, put dirt, or cause damage to the furniture or appliances. Some items like towels, cloths, and toys may be stored this way.

2.    Disassemble. Frames and other large items may be broken down for tables, beds, and other furniture. Disassembling large parts may give you ease in storing and moving since you will be dealing with smaller part already. Just ensure that all other items, like screws and pins, are well kept to avoid loss or difficulty in reassembly.

3.    Prevent scratching. It is important that the furniture is well kept to preserve its beauty once they are moved to another space. Scratches are common when furniture undergoes storing and moving. To avoid scratches, furniture legs are wrapped with covers, pads, or bubble wraps.

4.    Box properly. Labelling your boxes will provide you easier system of storing and moving. In storage service, you must stack your boxes by putting the delicate boxes on top of heavier or less fragile boxes. It is also important to place frequently used items in a specific box which should be located near your storage service unit. Boxes should also be sealed tightly to prevent dust or insects from entering and damaging your items.

5.   Take proper precaution. If you are storing important documents, you must provide a specific folder or box for it. It should also be easily accessible when stored in a storage service unit. Flammable materials, like chemicals and paints, are dangerous to store. It is also not advisable to store perishable goods.

These are just some tips on packing before storing and moving. These tips should be highly considered to ensure efficient storing and effective usage of a storage service unit.
