HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE YOUR CAR?

Maintaining your car is not an easy job. You have to change your engine oil as well as your transmission fluid. The transmission fluid is a red-colored coating applied to gears and converters. It acts as lubricant and coolant inside the transmission of your car. Transmission fluid may transmit power in automatic transmission. Your driving style determines the strains and stresses your transmission experience. If you drive under high-stress conditions, auto repair consultants must be approached to check the level of transmission and assess the necessity of a transmission service.

Transmission services usually include the cleaning of filter or replacing of screen; removing, examining, or cleaning the pan; reinstalling a new gasket for the pan; and replacing the transmission with a new fluid. It is recommended for manual transmission to have fluid change for every 50,000 miles while fluid change is necessary every 15,000 miles for heavy-duty car conditions. For automatic transmission, changing the transmission fluid is not that necessary. Automatic transmission may have other transmission services like cleaning or replacing worn out transmission parts.

Changing the transmission fluid is necessary especially for manual transmission. Since manual transmission is prone to fluid contamination, the gears and bearings may easily wear out if the contaminated fluid is not replaced. Lubrication will also lower if there are contaminants in the transmission fluid. Because of lack of lubrication, some parts may have shorter life span and you may need more expensive auto repair to fix them. Transmission service is needed for automatic transmission because the fluid may degrade with use. Contaminants, if not drained out, may also shorten the life span of the transmission parts.

Having a bad transmission may cause improper shifting. Aside from causing harm to the internal parts of the transmission, missing or neglecting transmission services may also inflict damage to other car parts. Sometimes, hearing noises from the inside of your car is a sign of severe damage in your transmission. It is important to constantly have your transmission checked by auto repair services. Aside from having a personal maintenance schedule, it is also advisable to regularly consult experts. Transmission service is sure a good expense for every car owner.
