Public Self Storage: Safe and Cutter-Free

The most important thing that you may to want to look at when choosing a public self- storage facility is if it has adequate security. Certainly, you may want to make sure that the stuff that you have inside the facility is safe. Let’s go through some things further and make sure you get this right before sealing a deal.

Location

When selecting a public storage, think about its location. Are you going to need access to the storage building frequently? If so, aim for someplace nearby.

Space

Consider how much space you really need. Self-storage facilities rent units in all different sizes. It’s best to opt for a smaller storage unit and pack it all to the ceiling rather than pay for space you’re not using. If even the smallest storage units are too much, look into small storage facilities that specialize on small loads.

Access

Be sure to ask the representative how and when you can access you unit. Most storage facilities allow for free access 24 hours a day, but some facilities have restrictions and others charge fees for access.

Security

Ideally, there should be a guard duty 24 hours a day; it goes without saying there should be an alarm system too. You will get better protection if you keep your items in an inside unit but this will cost more than an exterior unit. The other big thing that you are going to want in storage facilities is that you find one that has lockers that are the right size for your needs. Most facilities have a variety of locker sizes tend to get rented out fairly quickly. That means that you may have to look around a little bit to find a facility that has a locker that is the right size.

Climate-Control

Picking climate control storage facilities would surely save you a lot. The humidity of you storage unit can cause your furniture to warp and your appliances to mildew. Leaving a space between your stuff and the unit’s wall allows space for air to circulate and with the help of climate control; tight spaces would be moist-free.
