Health with Massage Therapy

Massage is no longer available solely through luxury spas and upscale health clubs. Due to the increase in demand at work, school and even your social life, massage therapy is offered in business, clinics, hospitals and even airports.  Massage is a technical term used for the combination of the three elements: pressure, rubbing action, and manipulation of your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

These three elements are used in massage differently; from light to deep in order to achieve total relief. Here are the different types of massage stemming out of the combination of different levels of pressure, rubbing action, and manipulation.

     1. Craniosacral massage. Craniosacral massage involves gentle manipulation of the bones of the skull. This involves the alignment and balance of the craniosacral system that encompasses the cranium, bones of the skull, fluid that surrounds the brain, and the spinal cord down to the sacrum. The pressure in key areas activates the natural healing of the body by moving the fluid within this system to remove restriction and enhance natural balance.

      2.  Deep tissue massage. This type goes deeper as it manipulates the underlying soft tissue of deep areas of the muscle. The manipulation of the fascia is beneficial as the connective tissues are being manipulated when traumatized, inflamed, and restricted. The release of toxins, opening and balancing the fascia, and release of ligaments and tendons are all taken into consideration when using this technique.

    3. Life stream massage. This massage includes the combination of Swedish, semi-deep tissue massage techniques, and relaxation strokes. Life stream teaches effective use of biomechanics and believes that deep tissue technique need not to be painful. This technique is in demand at health spas where there can always be a full booking schedule.

     4. Trigger point massage. This massage therapy focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse. This is a good way to solve problems such as fibromyalgia, tension headaches, paresthesia, and nerve pains.

Beyond the benefits of the specific massage therapies above, some people enjoy massage because it often involves caring, comfort, and a sense of empowerment. Have a massage treatment today and experience all these!
