Wedding Styles: Hair Color for Weddings

 images

A wedding is something that we all look forward to whether we are part of the entourage of just guests. Preparing for a wedding is beyond looking for the perfect gown or dress. It is about planning your whole image from head to foot --- from hair color to toe nail polish.

Now, if you are planning to dye your hair prior to the wedding, get a pen and paper and jot down these tips before you head out to the nearest salon in your area.

  • Consult a hair color specialist at least a month before the wedding date. Brides need to have hair color consultations at least three months before. But if you are just a part of the entourage or a guest, a month is enough to get the hair color you want and do some hair color correction should any accident happen. But when worse come to worst, have your hair color wedding styles done at least a week before the wedding. Hair color and highlights take about a week to properly adhere on hair strands.
  • Stay within two shades of your natural hair color. Doing so will make your hair color look more natural. Stick with warm colors if your skin tone falls under the warm category and cool colors if your skin tone falls under the cool category. You are attending a wedding so it is better to be on the safe side rather than the experimental one.
  • Show your dress and hair accessories to the hair color specialist. Certain wedding styles require a few strategically placed highlights to emphasize the most prominent features of your face.
  • Wait at least two days after your hair color treatment before you shampoo your hair. Let the hair color settle first before you wash it. Using a shampoo that is safe for color-treated hair also helps in reducing color-stripping.
  • Keep your hair deeply conditioned. No matter how nice your hair color is, it will look dull if your hair is dry and unhealthy. Remember, healthy and moisturized hair makes highlights and hair color stand out. It is advisable to condition your hair a day before the wedding to make your hair color shine.

These hair color tips will make wedding styles all the more glamorous. Stay tuned for more hair style tips when attending a wedding.

Wedding DJs and Bands: The Mood Makers

index

The wedding DJ or band determines whether the wedding is a boom or a bust; so it is up to you to decide whether you are into live music or a recorded consistent playlist. There are a thousand things wedding DJs and bands encounter during a set; so the challenge is how they deal with it.

A Wedding DJ or a Band?

Choosing between the two is tough for weddings in Tampa FL now have departed from the traditional ceremonies. Band music provides a natural and romantic scene as the acoustics create that sense of elegance. Another advantage of having a band in the wedding is that they are so used to the routine in wedding ceremonies that they tend to add extra plays to enhance and interact with the audiences. However, the downside of having a wedding band is that they do not have the ability to play all requested songs and will require more breaks than a wedding DJ. For wedding DJs, there is a consistency in music all throughout the event; they also have more time to interact with the audience and can serve as an emcee as well.

What are the qualities of a Wedding DJ?

A wide knowledge in music, genre and events is the number one thing to consider. You can easily judge his level of expertise as he presents a list of the songs to be played at your wedding. Another way to measure his expertise is to give him a certain theme and see if he could select a playlist that would fit in. Next is to test his personality; whether he is good with audiences or not. A good wedding DJ do not only control music but also controls and entertains the crowd. You can start assessing your wedding DJ from his looks or how he dresses up for work. It is best to keep the ceremony formal and expect everyone to be at their best. Last is the ability to control unwanted events. When something goes wrong with the sound system of even the ceremony itself, it is but great to be with one who could turn things around and bring back the romance in the room.

Getting married means a lot of work from dresses and food, to music and venue. Wedding companies in Tampa FL have a couple of tricks under their sleeves to bring you a unique wedding that will surely last. Make sure to give them a call and grab that dream wedding you’ve always wanted.

Should You Get Uplighting for Your Wedding?

images
In the past two years, uplighting in weddings have grown in popularity. But, not all couples will consider getting uplights because it can really get expensive. The wedding is expensive as it is. But for those with an extra budget, getting uplights can dramatically change the appearance, ambiance and mood of the wedding venue.

In Tampa FL, if you decide to get some uplights, you should be prepared to pay for the additional electricity cost, the special lighting company and the hours of preparation to get the lights done. Uplighting used to be only for the wealthy, but with the recent technology in LED lighting, it has become more affordable for everyone.

Traditional Incandescent Uplights

One of the most basic wedding uplights is the traditional incandescent uplights. These are very commonly used in weddings. The fixtures use a white high wattage halogen bulb. And then a colored filter called gel that is put in front of the bulb to change the color of the light emitted.

Using traditional incandescent uplighting has its ups and downs. Among the other types of uplights, this one is the most affordable. With the right planning, your wedding can achieve awesome lighting despite a limited budget.

On the other hand, you must be prepared to pay more for the electricity consumption. A traditional incandescent uplight fixture uses a 300-watt bulb. Other fixtures may require a 500-watt bulb. Not only will there be more electricity consumption, but there’s a risk of blowing the fuse due to the heavy electrical load. When this happens, your wedding venue will black out for at least 20 minutes or so. That means no music, no lights, no air-conditioning and etc.

Another possible issue with this type of uplighting is the presence of extension cords, wires and tape. Traditional incandescent uplights need to be plugged, which lessens the possibilities of placing the lights all over the room. Lighting designs will be limited.

While there are risks in using this type of uplight, you should also consider the ease of setting up. Traditional incandescent uplighting is the easiest to install. There will be reduced costs and less preparation time.
Every wedding is different and it is best that you talk to an event specialist about the right uplights for the event. Often times, it will depend on the ambiance you’re going for, the preparation time, the budget and the most suitable one for the venue.

Hiring a Wedding DJ

images

Wedding DJs make wedding receptions lively and fun. They make receptions memorable. Hiring a professional wedding DJ assures you that the guests keep grooving on the dance floor because your wedding party is interesting.

Things to Look for in a Wedding DJ

Here are some things you must check before hiring a DJ for your wedding reception.

Extensive Collection of Songs.  The DJ’s playlist should be extensive enough to include most of the songs that you want for your reception. It should accommodate any special playlist that you want to be made for your special day. Likewise, the wedding DJ should stay away from any songs that you dislike as a couple.

Ability to Enhance Mood. Professional weddings DJs should have the ability to select appropriate songs for each part of the wedding reception. Likewise, they should be able to make a smooth transition from one music genre to another. For example, a DJ can follow the couple’s walk-in song with uplifting music to excite the crowd. But once dinner is served, he changes to slower-paced songs. Experienced DJs also know how to read the guests and adjust the tone and tempo of the music according to their preference.

Master of Ceremony. Most DJs also acts as the masters of ceremony. They announce the various events at the reception in between playing music. If your DJ also acts as your emcee, you are assured that reception runs smoothly and according to schedule.

Equipment. Wedding DJs provide their own audio equipment, such as turntables and speakers, and everything else necessary for DJ work like quality wireless microphone for speeches. But in case you would want to add special equipment like fog and ice machines, consult them, too, because some of them have these equipment for rent. Just make sure that the establishment where your wedding reception will be held allow the use of such equipment. There are some establishments that do not allow the use of fog and ice machines in their premises.

If you see all of these in a wedding DJ, do not hesitate to make arrangements and haggle for deals and prices. Once you agree on a final arrangement, sign a contract. Do not pay until you the contract signing is made.

Planning A Wedding: Finding Wedding Halls in Tampa

images

Planning a wedding will never be easy because you want every detail to be as perfect as possible. One of the most important decisions to make is the venue of the wedding reception. You have to make sure that this is the perfect place to celebrate your wedding with your loved ones. There are numerous breathtaking wedding halls in Tampa but there’s only one that will touch your heart.

This is your big day so you should give it time to decide on which wedding halls in Tampa to consider. You can’t just consider the place you and your husband likes, you have to consider the comfort of your guests too. After all, this is a celebration and everyone should be happy and comfortable in your party.

Choosing the Tampa Wedding Hall

Given that you’re not having a beach or garden wedding, you must pick a Tampa wedding hall that has the right size. It shouldn’t be too small that the tables are too close to one another. Yet, it shouldn’t be too spacious as well. You have to take into account the other things you will use the space for like the buffet table, the sound booth, the dance floor, the stage and etc. Make a list of all these to see how much space you really need.

Once you decide on how much space you need, you can move on to finding wedding halls in Tampa with the perfect location. The place should be easily accessible and of course, it should be solemn and peaceful enough. Getting a wedding hall with a great view is a great idea too. Moreover, do consider the traffic as well. You will have all your wedding suppliers, food caterers and guests travelling to this place and heavy traffic is such an inconvenience.

It is important that you visit the wedding hall personally for the sole reason that you have to see how the place will be decorated. You must also assess the best way to decorate the venue depending on its surroundings and views. Your decors should complement the surroundings and it should help enhance the ambiance.

Famous wedding halls in Tampa can cost you more but this is your big day so you might want to spend a little extra on renting the perfect wedding venue. Your wedding happens only once so make sure it's memorable for everyone.

Your Unique Wedding Reception

The reception that follows a wedding ceremony is a way of thanking the people made the day special for both the bride and the groom. As such, it is only fitting to make the celebration as festive as possible.

There are lots of ideas to make your wedding reception unique and you can easily find them on the Internet. One of the emerging concepts these days is to set up karaoke equipment. Different people have varying opinions on this matter. Some say that setting up karaoke equipment can create a fun and festive spirit. Others, however, say that it may only distract people on the main focus of the occasion – the newlyweds. But despite differences in opinion, using karaoke equipment for wedding celebrations is still increasingly becoming popular.

Karaoke and Weddings

Karaoke is a form of entertainment that originated from Asia. It made its way in the US and has become a source of entertainment in local bars and pubs where people get to go on stage to sing in front of an audience. Singers sing along with the lyrics flashed on a screen before them.

The success of karaoke in bringing people together eventually reached the wedding industry. Lots of newlyweds like the idea of having their wedding guests as the source of entertainment. This breaks the ice between the families of the bride and the groom. Everyone loosens up and have a good time.

A Professional DJ Manning the Karaoke Equipment

But of course, there still are wedding guests who are too shy to perform in front of a crowd. This is when a professional DJ comes into the picture. Professional DJs not only know how to operate karaoke equipment, they also know to stimulate the crowd. They know which songs will encourage audience members to sing along, and they also know when to butt in when things become lull. There are a number of professional DJs in Tampa who offer their services for wedding receptions and other types of parties so it wouldn’t be hard on your part to find one.

Setting up karaoke equipment will certainly make your wedding reception fun and lively. Just make sure you also hire a professional DJ to make your karaoke experience on your wedding day as flawless as possible!

Hiring the Right Wedding DJ for Your Big Day

In any event, not just weddings, music plays a very important role in keeping the event lively. The music helps set the mood and maintains that mood throughout the night. On your wedding day, you don’t want just any music played-- you want the best and most memorable songs coming out of those speakers.
Many couples create their own list of music that they want to be played on their wedding. The only problem with this is that you won’t be prepared for unexpected things that can happen. For instance, you decide to host a game and need a very upbeat music, but it’s not on your list. Here’s where the services of a DJ come into play.

index

A disk jock has been always ready to play the best songs for your special day and even without following a list of songs to play, he is quick on his feet and knows the most appropriate songs to play. Hiring a DJ will definitely make your night more memorable. It will lessen your worries particularly with the music entertainment for the night.
If this is your first time hiring a disk jock, how should you do it? Here are some points to consider:

  • Look for Referrals- The best way to hire a wedding DJ is to ask for referrals from your friends and family. A referral signifies that the disk jock did a good job and the client is actually putting in a good word for his services.

  • Talk to the DJs in Person- If you already have a shortlist of DJs, make it a point to meet with them one by one. Learn more about their music forte and how they work. This is also the time to tell them your requirements and expectations. These interviews should really help you make a final decision about which disk jockey to hire.

  • Consider the Rate- Popular and in demand wedding DJs asks for a higher fee. That’s because of the expertise and professionalism they put on the table. But if they’re way beyond your budget, you have to consider alternative options. The right DJ for your wedding should ask the right price.

Your wedding should be a night to remember and music will be a big help in achieving this goal. Just enjoy the right and let your disk jock handle the good music. Keep your guests entertained and keep the venue full of life.
