How to Resolve a Speeding Ticket

There are two kinds of speeding tickets: Ones you can beat in traffic court and ones you can't. The problem is determining which kind you got. If it's your first speeding ticket in ten years and you expect it will be another decade before you get another one, you may want to avoid this whole question, pay the fine, and move on. When you get into the situation, remember to be extra careful especially in handling with an officer.

·    Be extra nice. Fighting with the police officer never increases your chances of leniency. You want him to like you. Prepare to achieve this goal. Allot of the time when people make small talk and have somewhat of a conversation it humanizes the people officers are dealing with and makes it harder for cops to give someone a speeding ticket.

·     Know your rights. If you can show that your conduct didn't violate even one element of a traffic law, you are home free. For example, if the area where you were ticketed was not a residential district, or the vehicle the officer claims was approaching was over 200 feet away, or you were at an intersection controlled by an "official traffic control device," you should quickly be found not guilty.

·        Check your speeding ticket. There are instances where officers overlook violations. It is never wrong to request changes in your speeding ticket when you find some discrepancies. However, when the officer is not accommodating, don't try to argue with him /her but records the actual circumstances in your mind and jot it down after your conversation.

·       Find a good traffic attorney. We all want to know that the traffic attorney who is handling our case is knowledgeable in that area, has a lot experience in it, and has won a lot of cases related to yours. The right traffic attorney is comfortable in the courtroom and can present your case to the best of his or her ability. All we want is a traffic attorney we are comfortable with and is open to suggestions; plus, one who is able to explain to us the details of the case thoroughly and has immediate solution to both anticipated and abrupt problems.

Speeding tickets are not easy to get away with without the right tools, people to talk to and the right attitude.
