What Hair Color Should You Pick?

When you go to a Tampa, FL hair salon and tell the receptionist that you want to get your hair colored, she will give you a set of manuals where you can choose some sample colors. Since the hair salon carries a couple of brands, expect to take some time choosing especially if you went there without any idea of what hair color to pick.

It is a must that you pick the right hair color for you because this can really affect your total look. You want to get your hair colored to look more appealing in the first place. If you just pick any color without proper consideration, it can result to a disaster. Not only that, you just threw away money in the trash. Then, you will have to spend another hundreds of dollars correcting the wrong hair color. Isn't that much of a hassle?

The most common problem in picking a hair color is choosing something that’s too light or too dark. When you go for something too light, it may result into an orange or brassy color. Some people want to get their hair bleached to really achieve the light color they want. If you want to go with this, be sure that the hair professional is experienced in bleaching. This can burn your skin and scalp when done incorrectly.

On the other hand, if you choose something that’s too dark, then the changes will barely appear. Again, another waste of money. Furthermore, dark colors are harder to correct because it stains the inner cortex of the hair. It can be quite impossible to lighten.

So, how do you pick the right hair color for you and avoid these costly mistakes? First off, the color or shade you must pick should match your skin tone. A rule of thumb is to go for warm shades if you look better in warm-colored clothes. Warm colors are reds and browns. Go for cool shades if you look better in blues, greens, and neutrals.

If you’re having a really hard time to tell which one is better, talk to the hair color professional in the salon. They've done this a hundred times and they should have a good idea of what will look good on you and what won’t. Look through magazines for reference. At the end of the day, the goal is for you to be happy and satisfied with your look.
