Picking the Best Highlights for Your Skin Tone

It has always been a trend to have a new haircut, hair color, or hair style for the New Year.  This 2014, finding a hue is not that easy with all the options brought up the past few years. However, a natural look would do the trick. Even with all the occasions you are about to be in, you will never be out of place with the perfect hair color and highlights to give accent to your flirty sundress.

Good communication with your hair stylist is the best solution for your highlights problems. It has been a problem for most teens to dye their hair due to mom’s firm stand in preserving the natural and youthful looks of their kids. The best way to get that look without mom noticing is to keep your highlights and new hair color at a minimum --- that is, nearest to your natural hair color.  Your skin tone is also a good way to base your hair color on.

  • ·   Fair Skin Tones: People with fair skin color commonly have blonde hair color. With this type, always remember that blonde comes in a number of shades; a lot of ladies go for the platinum blonde to make it seem obvious and eye-catching. But if you are looking for a more subtle look, honey blonde or golden blonde will do. If your hair color is very dark, you might want to choose light shades of highlights to lighten up your face.

  • ·     Dark skin tones: Very tan skin toned ladies are able to pull off any hair color depending on their features. However, it is recommended that tan ladies go for the soft caramel or copper highlights to compliment the dark shade of their hair. Darker shades of brown or blonde will surely suit this type of skin tone.

  • ·    Medium skin tones: You are at an advantage with this type of skin tone because you have the option of picking either blonde, caramel, or red highlights. People with medium skin tone look best with blonde highlights during the warm seasons to make them look fresh and energetic; while a dark brown hair color with blonde or red highlights will look hot during the extreme cold.

When in doubt, make sure to be in touch with your hair stylist. To keep it safe, make sure to stay close to your natural hair color to lessen regrets.
