Top Signs to Avoid a Massage Salon or Therapist

ME time off

So, you some time off from work and you’re itching to relax. You believe that getting a massage is the best way to spend your time. This is a time for you to de-stress and just let go of any life and work worries you have. Thus, picking the right therapist or parlor for the service.

There are times when people with free time off go for a massage at the wrong places. They just end up feeling frustrated instead of pampered. Here are the top signs to avoid:
  • No Return Calls- You booked an appointment earlier in the day because you know you’ll have some time off. Yet, the massage parlor or the therapist doesn’t call you back. It doesn’t really matter if you’re a regular or not. When they say they’d call, they should. If they don’t, call another. It’s as easy as that.
  • Smelly Therapists- You will be body to body with the therapist for an hour, or even more. You will lie down on the table or bed with the therapist massaging you in different parts of your body. No session will be relaxing if you keep smelling something off from your therapist. A smelly therapist is a big no-no. Don’t go back to that place again!
  • Makes You Wait- Hey, an appointment is an appointment. Some people just don’t know the point of making appointments. If I want to be not on time, will I even book an appointment? Of course not. So if a therapist or parlor books you for an appointment but constantly makes you wait, find another one. This is very unprofessional.
  • Doesn’t Hear You Out- It is your body, you know where it aches and you know where it feels good. If you request that the therapist takes more time in an area and she doesn’t hear you out, there’s no point in coming back. Your massage therapist should understand your needs and there’s no excuse not to hear clients out.
  • Too Much Chatting- There are clients who’d like to relax by napping during the session and there are some who prefer engaging in small talks with the therapist. However, a therapist should know when talking is too much. No one wants a therapist that talks incessantly during the session. Also, they shouldn’t be sharing any personal problems with you too.
  • No Effort At All- You want pressure but the therapist isn’t giving any. Maybe she’s too lazy or too weak (in that case, she shouldn’t be a therapist at all) to put pressure on your aching body. Well, that service isn’t exactly worth what you’re paying for.
For many people, getting a time off is a gift. They’d like to spend it the best way they can. So, watch out for these signs and make sure you have a relaxing time on your free time.
