Choosing A Secure RV Storage this Winter

Winterizing your RV encompasses much more than protecting the water system from freezing temperatures. It’s just that we’re under the impression that winterizing means to put that pink non-toxic antifreeze through our water system and everything will be okay.

Even if you choose an RV storage with  climate-controlled environment all winter, you still need to winterize it in case the power goes off, and to prevent moisture, rodent and insect problems. This means draining all the water, cleaning out the black and gray water tanks, draining your hot water heater if you have one, removing all food - even canned and dry items, cleaning liquids and making it cold weather ready. If you think you might use the RV even once and don't want to winterize it follow the list in "Use it" instructions. Pests are difficult to get rid with in a secure storage. The best method for keeping the critters out is to use mothballs. Purchase some inexpensive disposable bowls with lids and pour the mothballs into these containers. Poke holes in the containers, sufficient for air flow, but small enough to keep the mothballs "contained" as they diminish in size over time. Place these containers throughout your RV, even underbelly secure storage compartments. Motorized RVs require an additional level of winterization. Prior to storage, owners should perform standard engine service, including changing the oil and filters, and lubricating the chassis. Add fuel stabilizer, then fill the fuel tank and run the engine and AC generator for a few minutes to ensure that the stabilized fuel circulates fully.

RV storages should be “breathable” so that moisture doesn’t condense beneath your RV parts. Moisture can rust or corrode RV parts. It also allows mold to grow, and some, like black mold, can be deadly if inhaled. Moisture can accumulate inside your RV when it’s closed up for months. Again mold can be deadly, but even when not, it can destroy the interior of your RV. Moisture alone can do its own degree of damage. Never hesitate to ask a professional about secure storage for your RV.

Motorcycle, RV, Boat and Jet-Ski Storage in One—Where to Find It?

Are you a fan of vintage cars? Do you have recreational cars to have fun and adventures with the family? If you do, you’re probably problematic now as to where to keep your vintage and recreational cars. The garage is full and parking it outside your home isn’t allowed. So, where can you keep these vehicles safe and sound?

Self-storage facilities can store big items like furniture, appliances and even vehicles. Depending on the size of the storage unit, you can use it as a motorcycle storage, RV storage, jet-ski storage and boat storage.

However, if you’d want a storage facility that is mainly for storing vehicles, you can find those as well. These facilities are actually the best choice since the size of the units are, more or less, measured according to the sizes of the different vehicles like boats, caravans, RV, trailers and etc.

Actually, there are plenty of people who really like to invest on these things, but one of their main worries is where to keep those vehicles. For one, the neighbors won’t appreciate you parking a big RV on the street. Second, keeping them outside the house makes them prone to weather damage. Also, you really wouldn’t want your vintage cars just parked outside the house right?

The best option is to find a motorcycle storage, RV storage, jet-ski storage and boat storage facility that actually provides shelter for your expensive vehicles. Even if it rains or snows, you need not worry because your vehicle is safely enclosed in a climate-controlled unit.

There’s also no need to worry about motorcycle storage, RV storage, jet-ski storage and boat storage units accessibility. You can access your vehicles just like how regular storage units are accessed. But the good news is, since vehicles are more expensive possessions, the storage facility will be providing top-notch security to ensure that your possessions are safe and secure.

Moreover, there are different options for motorcycle storage, RV storage, jet-ski storage and boat storage. You can choose if you want a drive up interior space, a drive up garage or an outdoor covered space. Vehicle storage facilities may also offer add-on amenities like wash bays. They may also offer add-on services like cleaning the vehicle, repair or even transporting your jet-ski or boat to the port.

Vehicle storage has come a long way and these days, it’s been designed to make storing these huge things convenient for the client. Just make sure you pick the right storage facility to do business with.

RV Storage: Where is the Best Place?

The camping season has ended and there’s one problem, you don’t know where to store your large RV. There’s really no more space in the garage and parking it along the driveway just make things inconvenient. So what do you do?

Simple, you find an RV storage. Storing it in another place not only lifts your worries about where to park it, but it also comforts you to know that your RV is protected and safe. RVs are very expensive and having it lying around outside your home can mean risk of damage to your camper. Surely, you don’t want to take the risk.

RV storage facilities are the same as self-storage units, where you lease a unit and put anything you want there (as long as it’s legally stated in the contract.) The great thing about self-storage units is that you can pick the size you need. And the storage unit will always be locked, there’s no risk of damage from weather and different climate conditions.

Moreover, getting an RV storage frees you from the hassle of always looking out for it. Even your neighbor will appreciate that you took initiative to park that big ol’ thing elsewhere. And one more thing, burglars will immediately know if the family is at home or not, particularly when the RV is not parked. This risks the security of your home.

Frankly speaking, your home isn’t a warehouse and you wouldn’t want it to be a garage either. If there’s no more space for an RV camper, then invest on storage space. You may be hesitant to spend on the lease for self-storage units, but it is worth it when you experience the relief that you are able to store your RV safely and securely until the next camping trip.

You can trust that RV storage facilities will keep your RV safe. These facilities are used to having boats, cars, motorcycles and RVs there. There’s 24-hour security monitoring all self-storage units. And if you want, you can pick a storage unit with temperature control, to avoid rusting of parts and cracking of paint.

On top of that, if there is extra space in the storage unit you leased out, you can always put additional things like unused furniture and appliances. This might be the best time to clean your garage too. Nevertheless, pick a storage company that has a reputable name in your area. This way, you can sleep through the night knowing your RV is in safe hands.
