Jaguar Parts: Making a Decision

When you take your car to the dealership's service department for repairs, you know you're getting Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) jaguar parts. However, if you take your car to an independent shop, you'll most likely get aftermarket jaguar parts. Is there anything wrong with that? Does a less expensive part mean a poorer-quality part? And in what situations should you use only OEM jaguar parts?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) jaguar parts those that you will find at the authorized dealership but will not be packaged with the auto manufacturer's name and/or logo. If you go to the jaguar parts counter at a dealership and ask for any part, you'll usually get one type. You don't have to worry about assessing the quality of different brands and prices. The OEM part should work exactly as the one you are replacing. It is what the vehicle was manufactured with and provides a peace of mind in its familiarity and performance; thus having guaranteed quality assurance. Original Equipment (OE), also known as Genuine, is the jaguar parts that you get when you walk into an authorized dealership. They will usually be packaged with the auto manufacturers name and/or logo, and as such, can be expensive and pricey. Aftermarket products are from manufacturers that do not supply to auto manufacturers, but have invested in research and development and can produce quality jaguar parts. These manufacturers are known for products such as air filters, oil filters, shocks, spark plugs, etc. They include manufacturers that make OE and OEM-quality products but also include manufacturers that produce upgraded or "performance" jaguar parts. With this, aftermarket jaguar parts are usually less expensive than OEM parts; how much you save varies by brand. Shop around to find the best price and to get an idea of how much that part usually costs. If the price of a part seems too good to be true, ask questions about its quality.

All aftermarket parts are not created equal — but all OEM jaguar parts are. This creates its own set of advantages and disadvantages. If you're familiar with a number of brands or work on your own car, aftermarket parts can save you a lot of money. Making thorough research is an advantage.
