Which Type of Mattresses Should You Pick for Quality Sleep?

A good night’s rest is essential for an exhausted body. It will provide you with quality rest throughout the night that will make you feel energetic the next day. But, what is the requirement for a quality night’s rest? You will need the right mattress to sleep on and a quality one at that.

Mattresses come in different sizes and materials. Sales agents will try to sell you a mattress based on the general requirements you are looking for. However, this won’t be enough to really pick the right one for you. You should also know the different types of mattresses out there, so you can make an informed decision of what to buy, not just relying on what others have to say.

In the market today, there are four types of mattresses, you will be choosing from. Here they are:

Open coil mattresses are the most common. It is made up of around 350 springs which are constructed with spiral wires at the top and bottom. There is also something called posture springs, which is just made of one length wire placed around the springs. With a posture spring mattress, the coils are shorter making the spring count higher, which makes the mattress more comfortable.

Pocket Spring mattresses are made of small springs but placed inside a fabric pocket. The springs are joined together by joining the pockets or joined through the center of the springs. The advantage of this type of mattress is that the spring outlines the body which helps put the spine in the proper position. This type of mattress is also great for relieving pressure from the shoulders and hips. In addition, the pocket spring mattress is great for couples. If one moves, the other person won’t feel the movement.

·         Latex Mattress

The latex mattress is made of natural material from the rubber plant. Its foam is ultra-elastic. When pressure is put on the mattress, it recovers quickly. People love the latex mattress because the material is hypo-allergenic. It also has anti-microbial properties that prevent growth of bacteria, fungi, bed bugs and dust mites. This is good for people with respiratory problems and for people looking for back support.

·         Memory Foam Mattress

The benefit of having a memory foam mattress is that the foam molds itself into your body depending on your body’s pressure and temperature. It is also hypoallergenic. It uses the Visco elastic material which provides different levels of firmness according to your body’s sleeping position needs. This type of mattress is very popular nowadays but it can be expensive.

In choosing a mattress, it’s not just about the brand or type of mattress you want; it’s all about how comfortable your body is.
